Apply now for Grant Writing and Community Workshop Programs
The funding is out there but pulling together a winning grant application just isn’t achievable.
In conjunction with an experienced local grant-writing mentor, Lockyer Valley Regional Council is continuing an innovative mentoring program to support the region's not-for-profit community groups, associations and clubs with developing their grant writing skills.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan encouraged applications from suitable candidates.
“This training and development program involves Council funding a mentor to work one-on-one with successful groups when they apply for up to two different grants and one acquittal.
“This opportunity not only gives your members valuable skills in grant writing but will allow your group to retain these best practice grant applications as templates for future submissions,” Mayor Milligan said.
Adding to what’s already on offer, Council’s Community Workshops Program allows local community groups the avenue to participate in online courses to improve the group’s operational capabilities. The focus of the workshops is to provide the opportunity for community groups to function cohesively and to generate more income, with successful applicants to be reimbursed for the course fees upon successful completion.
Three online courses are also available for not-for-profit community organisations to help them function and flourish. Courses include:
- Step in, Step up - Understanding your committee member role.
- WTF – Where’s the Funding? Understanding the range of fundraising opportunities available.
- Win More Grants - Getting your group’s share of the $80 billion in grant funding that’s given out annually.
