Art Exhibition Now Open
Those looking to experience the natural beauty and wonder of the Lockyer Valley through the lens of a photographer and local artist are encouraged to visit the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery.
The latest striking exhibition at the Gallery, 'The Essence and Colours of the Lockyer Valley' by photographer Mark Sullivan and artist Elizabeth Browne, is now on display.
Lockyer Valley Community Services Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan encouraged residents to come and view the beautiful artworks for themselves.
“This exhibition shows the people, work and natural beauty of the Valley - the components that make up the Lockyer Valley community,” he said.
“The most important resource of any community is its people, and Mark Sullivan has incorporated farm workers picking produce, people working in shops, in towns and farmers working the land.
“Elizabeth Browne is known for her vibrant and dramatic works, and the pieces in the gallery capture the region’s natural beauty of local mountains, valleys and national parks.”
On display until Sunday, 5 February 2023, Cr Hagan said the exhibition provided the perfect holiday outing for locals and visitors alike.
“The exhibition is for all ages to appreciate, and many locals may recognise the landmarks and subjects featured in the display,” he said.
The Lockyer Valley Art Gallery can be found within the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre, Gatton and is open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am - 4pm and is closed on public holidays.
