Recycle your Nespresso pods at Lockyer Valley Libraries
Council is encouraging residents to leave their used Nespresso pods at Lockyer Valley Libraries and do their part to ensure a sustainable region.
Recycling drop-off pods are now active at Lockyer Valley Libraries in Gatton and Laidley and Lockyer Valley Regional Council Environment Portfolio Councillor, Michael Hagan is encouraging Nespresso coffee lovers from all corners of the Lockyer Valley to utilise this service.
“Gatton and Laidley Libraries are participating in Nespresso's Bulk Recycling Program, providing Nespresso coffee pod recycling points at both libraries.
“Simply drop in your individual pods, Nespresso recycling bags, or Australia Post recycling satchels and we'll send them back to Nespresso to be recycled for you.
“Recycling coffee capsules gives them a second life, allowing the aluminium to be recycled and transformed into new products - such as new capsules, vegetable peelers, ladders, bicycles and so much more.
“This is a wonderful initiative and a great way to focus on sustainability.
“Taking your pods to collection points for recycling the aluminium case and coffee waste is a great way to further reduce your carbon footprint when you have your next cup of coffee.
“Coffee machines are a convenient and cost-effective solution to your morning caffeine fix; however, such ease can often result in a surplus of pods.
“This is the perfect solution to ensure you can responsibly enjoy your coffee while being sustainable too,” Cr Hagan said.
Nespresso capsules are made from aluminium, which is infinitely recyclable. If you use an alternate pod, please contact your capsule manufacturer for recycling options.
