Lots on at Lockyer Valley Libraries this January
You will be guaranteed loads of free fun at Lockyer Valley Libraries throughout the month of January.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Community Services Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan is encouraging parents and carers to take advantage of the affordable variety of activities on offer.
“Council is delivering a wide range of fun and interesting activities and workshops to keep our children’s minds and bodies active and stimulated.
“Entertaining the kids can often be costly, which is why we’ve worked hard to ensure all school holiday activities are free for our families to enjoy.
“Whether your child loves to use their hands, enjoys being creative or loves to dance, you will find an activity for all interests.
“Come along to both the Gatton and Laidley Libraries over the holidays and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed,” Cr Hagan said.
Until Friday 13 January, pop in and take home a fun gummy bear science experiment that will teach youngsters all about osmosis. Return your experiment with your findings to the library by Wednesday, 18 January and go into the draw to win a tub of yummy gummy bears!
On Friday 13 January, Lego lovers will take centre stage as our popular holiday Lego building session returns from 2pm to 3pm.
Get reading and join in the Summer Reading Club until 31 January. You can go into the draw to win great prizes, with the more you read, the more chances you have to win! Visit summerreadingclub.slq.qld.gov.au to join or for more information
You can also bring your snacks and join us at 10am on Tuesday 17 January to watch a family movie in airconditioned comfort on our big screens.
Lastly, join Jurassic Joe and the Dinosaur Club at the Gatton Library (10am) and Laidley Library (2pm) on Thursday 19 January for a fun-filled musical ride through the amazing world of prehistoric reptiles that will get everyone singing, dancing, laughing and learning. Bookings essential.
