Registrations open for Welcome Baby Celebration
The Welcome Baby Celebration is an opportunity to formally introduce and welcome your baby as a valued member of the Lockyer Valley community, and registrations for the 2023 event are now open.
The celebration will be held at the Gatton Library, Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre on Saturday 3 June 2023.
Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan encouraged registrations for the event, which is fast becoming a much-loved tradition in the region.
“The Welcome Baby Celebration is held as a special event for our region's youngest residents and their families.
“It is vital for our community’s new parents to feel supported through this momentous time in their lives.
“The Welcome Baby Celebration is a proud Council tradition for the Lockyer Valley community and one that we look forward to every year.
“Since its inception in 2017, more than 140 babies have participated in the Welcome Baby Celebrations.
“If you have welcomed a new baby into your family in 2022, we encourage you to register and join in on this great celebration with family and friends,” Mayor Milligan said.
Each baby welcomed will receive a certificate from the Mayor, and a Lockyer Valley Libraries First 5 Forever gift bag. First 5 Forever is part of a literacy program being run through Lockyer Valley Libraries, to help provide strong emergent literacy foundations by connecting parents to a range of resources and ideas. Morning tea is also included.
