#EmbraceEquity this International Women’s Day
The Lockyer Valley community will come together next month to #EmbraceEquity, the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day celebrations.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council is again proud to host this year’s International Women’s Day Celebration Breakfast, to be held on Wednesday 8 March.
Tickets for the event are now on sale, and Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan is encouraging both men and women to come together and enjoy the opportunity for connection and growth.
“This is such a wonderful opportunity for our region’s men and women to come together to grow, connect and enjoy each other’s company.
“Men play an important role in our quest for embracing equity, and we certainly welcome their presence,” Mayor Milligan said.
Tickets are $25 for a light buffet breakfast and the chance to hear guest speaker, Alison Smith, who is responsible for leading a diverse team of professionals at the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ).
“Alison has experience working in the public and private sectors in ICT, transport, energy, police, and corrective services.
“She also spent 14 years as a journalist, working in newspapers, radio, and television, before commencing as a senior media advisor in the Queensland Government for two terms, so I am sure her varied career experience will allow for a captivating morning,” Mayor Milligan said.
Pre-purchase your tickets (no tickets at the door) until Wednesday 1 March, at lockyervalleytickets.com.au.
Raffle tickets will be available on the day, with proceeds going towards event volunteers, the Lockyer Valley Veterans Cricket Association.
