Register now for the Early Warning Network
Lockyer Valley Regional Council is encouraging residents to subscribe to the Lockyer Valley Early Warning Network (EWN) and receive free severe weather alerts.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said residents would be surprised at how quick the process is.
“Did you know it takes less than a minute?!
“We want you to plan, prepare for and respond to severe weather events before they happen.
“That is why, as a Council we have partnered with EWN to provide residents access to localised severe weather alerts.
“Providing access for our residents to an alerting system for potentially severe weather and bushfires is a vital tool and should be utilised by everyone.
“The EWN allows you to become familiar with potential hazards and risks that may impact our region, while also take early action to reduce any potential damage that may occur during severe weather.
“The Lockyer Valley has most certainly experienced more than its fair share of natural disasters and by signing up to the EWN you can help protect yourself, your loved ones and your property from the threat of dangerous weather,” Mayor Milligan said.
The EWN team of expert meteorologists uses Bureau of Meteorology information to provide subscribers with alerts relevant to a chosen location. It’s free to join, so why wait? Register now at https://www1.ewn.com.au/lockyer/register.aspx.
