Come along to the 2023 Lockyer Valley Heritage Festival THIS weekend!
The 2023 Lockyer Valley Heritage Festival is set to take over the region this Saturday, and Lockyer Valley Regional Council is encouraging residents and visitors alike to come along and join in the festivities!
Saturday 22 April is a celebration of the heritage of the Lockyer Valley, and as a plus there will be a host of activities on offer throughout the day.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said the Heritage Festival was the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in yesteryear.
“We can all see just how much life has changed over the past decades – be it the overall pace of how we live, or the use of technology.
“The Heritage Festival is a chance to celebrate the rich and vibrant history of our region – at a pace that suits you!
“Activities will be held at Das Neumann Haus Museum, the Laidley Pioneer Village and the Gatton and District Historical Society.
“At the Laidley Pioneer Village, come along from 9am – 3pm and entry is by donation, with a range of displays, including vintage cars and farm machinery.
“Local musicians will have your toes tapping and the Big Brekky, plus all-day menu will keep you fuelled! There will also be a small engines and woodworking display, operating blacksmith shop, sheep shearing demonstrations, spinners and weavers, and the Lockyer Valley School of Highland Dance will perform.
“Das Neumann Haus will have horse and carriage rides operating throughout the day, which are a guaranteed hit.
“Spend the day checking out the historical displays and house museums, enjoy German lunches and local musos, explore family history, historic farm machinery and vintage cars – all while soaking up the beautiful natural scenery of the Lockyer Valley,” Mayor Milligan said.
To top it off, the Ferrari Park Markets will also be running on the day, from 7am – 12pm so there really will be something for everyone.
Mayor Milligan encouraged residents of all ages to attend.
“Mother Nature will hopefully provide a stunning autumn weekend so come along – we hope to see you there,” Mayor Milligan said.
