Council celebrates local volunteers
It’s National Volunteer Week - Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering and yesterday, Lockyer Valley Regional Council hosted a special event to thank our volunteers for the vital support they offer the Lockyer Valley.
National Volunteer Week is not only about acknowledging the contribution these selfless individuals make to our community, but also aims to promote the value of volunteering.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan thanked the region’s volunteers for the difference they make throughout our community.
“Our volunteers play a pivotal part in the seamless function of not just our organisation, but the wider community.
“They help make our region what it is and contribute to our community in a selfless, dedicated way.
“Everyone’s time is valued, yet our volunteers donate it back to the community and make such a difference.
“To our volunteers at the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery, Das Neumann Haus, Council events, Queensland Transport Museum, Visitor Information Centre (VIC) and our Tourism Ambassador – thank you.
“Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Lockyer Valley and together, we celebrate them,” Mayor Milligan said.
If you’re interested in sharing your skills and energy in the tourism and events space – be it at the VIC, Queensland Transport Museum, Das Neumann Haus or Council-led events – we’d love to hear from you.
