Missing links complete for region’s footpaths
Safety and connectivity for some of the region’s footpath networks have recently received an upgrade, thanks to a funding injection.
The works, funded through the South East Queensland Community Stimulus Program (SEQCSP), have improved footpath conditions and connectivity at three locations in Gatton and one in Plainland.
The locations include Crescent Street, Ballantine and Spencer Streets and Dennis Minson Drive, Gatton and Gehrke Road, Plainland.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Infrastructure Portfolio Councillor Janice Holstein said Council was committed to making these areas more pedestrian-friendly.
“We have no doubt the community will benefit greatly from these works.
“We held discussions with the impacted property owners, and they were well aware, and supportive of the project.
“It is important we respond to the changing needs of our streets and to improve the experience of footpaths for our residents.
“This includes boosting safety and providing missing links along thoroughfares with high foot traffic.”
This project was proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s South East Queensland Community Stimulus Program in association with the Lockyer Valley Regional Council.
