Special visitor for Lockyer Valley Libraries
The August Toddler Time is set to feature a very special visitor - one of the four-legged kind.
Come along and spend the morning with Doris the Assistance Dog, to mark Assistance Dog Day!
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Community Services Portfolio Councillor, Michael Hagan said Assistance Dog Day was celebrated on 4 August every year – timed perfectly to coincide with a very special Toddler Time event.
“Dogs are well known for their loyalty and dedication – they really are a man’s best friend.
“However, assistance dogs take this to a whole new level as they help people with disabilities or illnesses navigate their daily life.
“These dogs are incredibly skilled and are such a joy – we’re really looking forward to welcoming Doris to this special Toddler Time event and putting a spotlight on these dogs and their trainers, who deserve to be celebrated.
“Join us for a morning of stories and rhymes, take part in some canine craft and meet Doris the assistance dog at the Gatton Library – we look forward to seeing you there!” Cr Hagan said.
Stay tuned - Doris will visit the Laidley Library for Toddler Time later in the year
