Interagency meeting boasts highest attendance in recent times
More than 30 representatives from various government, non-government and community-based services were on hand at the recent Lockyer Valley Service Providers Interagency (LVSPI) meeting.
Held at the Lockyer Community Centre, those in attendance capitalised on an excellent networking opportunity that connected agencies with vital local social service providers.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said partnerships were pivotal to the success of the LVSPI.
“The LVSPI is facilitated by Council, in partnership with the Lockyer and Laidley Community Centres and works collaboratively with network members which include government, non-government, and community-based services.
“It’s all about identifying and addressing service gaps, developing localised strategies, networking on solutions and strengthening referral pathways between services.
“Information sharing between organisations at a local level is so powerful, for both service providers and community members, and that’s just what the LVSPI does,” she said.
Around 20 agency representatives attended a tour of Lockyer Community Centre, with more than 30 coming along to the Interagency Meeting.
Boasting its highest attendance in recent times, this face-to-face meeting highlighted the benefits of Council’s help in fostering partnerships, as well as the boost in social services to our region.
Many of the attendees were excited to be a part of the opportunity and sought to build relationships and identify areas of collaboration.
