Have your say on Draft Lockyer Valley Planning Scheme
Community Consultation on the draft Lockyer Valley Planning Scheme is now underway.
Following recent endorsement from the State Government, Lockyer Valley Regional Council is pleased to announce the consultation phase of the draft Planning Scheme has commenced and will continue through until Friday, 6 October 2023.
Lockyer Valley Planning Portfolio Councillor, Rick Vela encouraged the community to review the document, saying feedback on the Scheme was vital.
“Council is seeking community review of the Scheme to ensure that in their view, it adequately provides for growth and protects liveability and prosperity in the Lockyer Valley.
“With our population expected to grow to almost 60,000 people by 2046, the draft Planning Scheme is our map to ensuring we allow for growth and that development meets community expectations.
“We really want to encourage the community to take the time to be involved in the consultation process,” he said.
The draft Planning Scheme is now available to view online, in hard copy at the Gatton Customer Service Centre and both the Gatton and Laidley Libraries, with consultation supported by several engagement activities including drop-in locations, one-on-one sessions with a planner, pop-up locations and focus group sessions.
Come along on Thursday 3 August for a drop-in session at the Laidley Library from 12pm - 3pm; the Gatton Library on Tuesday 8 August from 9am – 2pm; the Laidley Library on Thursday 10 August from 9am – 2pm; and the Laidley Library Park on Friday 11 August, from 8am – 12pm.
