Input needed for naming of Laidley Recreation softball facility
Community consultation is now open to find a name for the softball facility at the Laidley Recreation Reserve.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Deputy Mayor and Sport and Recreation Portfolio Councillor, Jason Cook said the Laidley Recreation Reserve Sport Association Committee reached out to Council to assist in the process.
“Council is seeking suggestions of a community member or group that has contributed considerably to Laidley and has significant community standing.
“We resolved at the June Ordinary Meeting to put the naming of the softball facility to community consultation and are now inviting community input on a proposal to find a name fitting of the Laidley Recreation Reserve’s softball facility.
“If you know an individual or group that should have the softball facility named in their honour, let us know,” Cr Cook said.
The softball facility naming survey is available online via Microsoft Forms at https://forms.office.com/r/VWC4GaAN0a, with a link also available on the Have Your Say page on Council’s website.
Additionally, paper copies are available at Council’s Gatton and Laidley offices. A corflute sign with a QR code to the naming survey can also be found at the Laidley Recreation Reserve.
All nominations will be considered based on the eligibility contained within the nomination process, noting that Council’s final decision will be based on merit, not necessarily popularity.
Nominations close on 1 October, 2023.
