Arts development funding now open for applications

Lockyer Valley Regional Council is pleased to announce Round 1 for the 2023/24 Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) applications are now open.

The RADF program aims to support both professional and emerging artists and arts workers in the Lockyer Valley region.

Lockyer Valley Community Services Portfolio Councillor, Michael Hagan said RADF grants are designed to strengthen the region’s thriving arts and cultural sector.

“We are looking for arts and cultural activities that encourage the development of skills, create collaboration, cultural innovation or partnerships.

“These grants offer artists, individuals or community groups the means to bring new projects to life.

“Excitingly, it is these projects that will produce many benefits for the Lockyer Valley, as well as bringing our communities together and supporting the art and culture sector our region has to offer.”

Cr Hagan said Round 1 RADF projects may include programs or projects that respond to a specific opportunity or need within the arts sector, or to enhance creative festivals or events that offer quality outcomes, provide opportunities for local artists and bring residents together.

Applications must be submitted online via lockyervalley.smartygrants.com.au by 10am, Monday 4 December 2023.

“This funding will no doubt provide some engaging and exciting opportunities for our region and ensure the Lockyer Valley’s rich and vibrant arts community continues for many years to come.

“I encourage any local individuals and groups to see if RADF can help them.

“As a Council, we are committed to growing a flourishing arts sector and the RADF grants provide one of the many pathways to achieving this vision,” Cr Hagan said.

RADF is a partnership between Lockyer Valley Regional Council and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
