Visit the Lockyer Valley this festive season!
It’s less than one hour west from Brisbane – but do you know what’s really on offer to see and do in the Lockyer Valley?
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Tourism Portfolio Councillor, Brett Qualischefski said as well as an abundance of real country experiences, the Lockyer Valley offered some unique Christmas shopping experiences that could help check off those hard-to-buy-for lists.
“The Christmas holiday season is upon us again, so why not enjoy some unique shopping opportunities and explore everything the Lockyer Valley has to offer,” he said.
“If it’s great cafes featuring the freshest of local produce, the Lockyer Valley is your place for a morning tea or lunch.
“If it’s stunning scenery, family attractions, museums or scenic parks, we have it here.
“From horse-riding through a historical national trail, or spotting rare bird species at Glen Rock Regional Park, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.
“Have your own farm gate experience by stopping in at roadside stalls and purchasing farm fresh produce direct from the grower.
“These alone are great reasons to visit, but when combined with some Christmas shopping from boutique fashion and gift stores, where you’ll find everything from handmade chocolates to antique clothing, the Lockyer Valley is an enjoyable Christmas shopping experience!”
Cr Qualischefski encouraged people to leave the big city shopping centre headaches with car parking hassles behind and head to the open spaces of the Lockyer Valley.
“Buy the pumpkin for Christmas lunch from a roadside stand, or browse a range of gifts, jewellery and accessories in the quaint cafes of Forest Hill while you wait for your coffee.
“For a one-stop-shop of gift-giving, pop into the Visitor Information Centre in Gatton to shop a delightful array of local products from jams and honey to beautifully crafted timber and leather products to heavenly soaps,” he said.
