Lockyer Valley Art Gallery welcomes new exhibition
A colourful, expressive display of art has just landed at the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery.
Symphony, by members of the Lockyer Valley Art Society Inc. (LASI), is the Gallery’s latest exhibition, opening just in time for the holidays.
Lockyer Valley Community Services Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan encouraged locals and visitors to experience the exhibition for themselves.
“The word ‘symphony’ means to speak, tell or say together, and this exhibition is a bringing together of the artworks of 23 members of LASI in a colourful, expressive display of art,” he said.
“Reflective and interactive, these artworks highlight and celebrate the variety of personalities, stories and talents of LASI members.”
Running from 8 December 2023 to 28 January 2024, the exhibition features 2D and 3D artworks, created using a variety of mediums to blend harmoniously in a visual, auditory and spatial symphony.
“In total, 110 items, including artworks, pottery and sculptures, are on display in this exhibition,” Cr Hagan said.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for people who may not normally have the time to visit the Gallery to come along and view the works of talented local artists.
“It’s also a perfect holiday activity to do with the kids.”
Entry to the Gallery, which is located in the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre, Gatton, is free.
The Gallery will be closed from 1pm Friday, 22 December 2023, reopening 9am Tuesday, 2 January 2024.
