Weatherproofing set for Gatton Shire Hall
Works on the Gatton Shire Hall are set to commence next month.
The $370,000 program will see weatherproofing works undertaken on the interior and exterior of the Hall.
Community Facilities Portfolio Councillor and Deputy Mayor, Cr Jason Cook said the works were necessary due to the deterioration of the current cladding.
“During rain events, moisture is seeping into the building,” he said.
“However, the project works will protect and seal the facade, eliminating further damage to the building.
“Weather permitting, works on the facility will commence on Saturday 3 February until Friday 23 February.
“Since its opening in 1978, the Gatton Shire Hall regularly hosts civic, school, community, sporting and business events.
“These works will complement the major upgrades to the facility that were completed in 2021, and we are excited to see yet another layer added to improve the Hall’s capabilities.”
Minor disruptions due to construction traffic and a temporary exclusion of some parking areas adjacent to the Hall will be necessary.
“We extend our thanks to the community for their patience and understanding throughout this time,” Cr Cook said.
