Valentine’s Day well spent at Lockyer Valley Libraries
Lockyer Valley residents enjoyed a Valentine’s Day (or as our Library staff celebrate, Library Lover’s Day), with crowds coming along to the Gatton Library to spend the most romantic night of the year with a bestselling romantic author.
Esteemed author Rachael Johns chose February 14 to showcase her new title The Other Bridget to the Lockyer Valley, a feel-good romantic comedy that was recently released.
Written by Australia’s most beloved romance writer, The Other Bridget is a delightfully uplifting book about books, and a gorgeous celebration of the power and pleasure of romance novels throughout the ages.
A Council spokesperson said more than 70 residents came along to the event.
“Tickets opened last month and were quickly snapped up.
“We relish in giving our readers the chance to gain insight into the latest book releases, be it from local or national authors.
“Rachael was generous with her time, talking about her new release and the writing process involved.
“Attendees also enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions, purchase copies of the book and to get them autographed,” the spokesperson said.
The next author to visit Lockyer Valley Libraries is Lindt Café siege survivor Selina Win Pe, who will discuss her book, Untold Truths: A Journey to a ‘Will of Courage’ on Thursday, 7 March.
