Save the date for the 2024 International Women’s Day breakfast
Mark Thursday 7 March in your diary and keep it free, as Lockyer Valley Regional Council will once again play host to this year’s International Women’s Day Celebration Breakfast.
Celebrated globally on 8 March since 1911, International Women’s Day (IWD) presents an opportunity for both men and women to come together to show their support for this great cause.
The theme for IWD 2024 is #InspireInclusion, which aims to collectively forge a more inclusive world for women.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council CEO, Ian Church said this year’s guest speaker had made a significant mark on the social services sector.
“Amanda Dalton is the Founder and CEO of Protea Place Inc. and Protea Place Women’s Support Centre.
“Boasting more than 20 years’ experience in the social services sector, Amanda identified the need for a women’s support centre in Toowoomba.
“Come along to hear from Amanda and also network and mingle with like-minded people while we reflect on the significant contributions women have made to our society,” he said.
Tickets for the event, to be held at the Gatton Shire Hall in North Street, Gatton from 7am, are now on sale.
“I encourage both women, but importantly men to join us as we recognise the amazing women in our lives and those in our community,” Mr Church said.
Tickets are $25 for a light buffet breakfast, with proceeds from a multi draw raffle (tickets on sale at the venue) to go to Protea Place.
Pre-purchase your tickets (no tickets at the door) until Friday 1 March at www.lockyervalleytickets.com.au.
