Easter fun at Lockyer Valley Libraries!
Why not take advantage of the free, fun-filled range of activities on offer at Lockyer Valley Libraries these Easter school holidays?
The Libraries team will once again present a jam-packed schedule to entertain children throughout the break.
A Lockyer Valley Regional Council spokesperson said the schedule would include a range of fun and educational activities for children and youngsters.
“We are encouraging our region’s families to enjoy the range of activities at our libraries these school holidays,” they said.
From Tuesday 2 April to Friday 12 April, both Libraries will offer a Scavenger Hunt to test your sleuthing skills – can you crack the code? The code changes three times each week so make sure you revisit!
Register to participate in The Castle of Tarragindi activities on Wednesday 3 April at the Gatton Library or Monday 8 April at the Laidley Library. This program invites children and families to get creative, be inspired and explore the decorative artform of the ‘grotesque’ through various hands-on and drawing activities.
The Castle of Tarragindi was developed by the Children’s Art Centre at the Galley of Modern Art (GOMA) in collaboration with Australian artist Natalya Hughes.
Alternatively, bring your snacks and enjoy a movie on the big screen while you use your master building skills and have fun playing with Lego at the Family Movie and Lego Fun event, in Gatton and Laidley on 5 April from 2pm – 3.30pm.
In the second week of the holidays, we will welcome a range of presenters to deliver activities at our libraries. Urban Utilities will present their Water Ranger vs Blocka activities for children aged 0-5 and the Beneath the Streets program for primary and high school aged children, while Sparky Do Dah will present Imagine, Create and Play for all ages. These activities require bookings.
