Festival Precinct to delight music lovers, shopaholics and foodies
Non-stop music, roving performers, market stalls, and an exciting line-up of food trucks are just a few of the highlights locals and visitors can look forward to while visiting the Laidley Recreational Reserve during the 61st annual Laidley Spring Festival.
While an array of events will be held throughout the township from September 6-8, the Reserve will become the main Festival Precinct where the community can gather to shop for unique gifts, enjoy toe-tapping tunes, and feast on mouth-watering bites.
With a jam-packed program of events scheduled, Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan, said there would be something for everyone to enjoy.
“If you love music, shopping and tasty food, the Laidley Recreational Reserve will be the place to be.
“There will be plenty of unique products and one-of-a-kind finds to captivate every shopper’s heart at the bustling market stalls,” she said.
Included in the stage program will be several well-known local and regional artists, including country music singer songwriter Tate Cole, Rheanna Leschke Trio, and Summers and Ainsworth.
The Crack Up Sisters, who are known for their big props, aerial antics, and hilarious gags that you never see coming, will also bring their brand-new EXTRAordinary Tent Show and Museum of Oddities to the festival.
If you’re in the mood to shop till you drop, market coordinator Julie Hewitt says there will be a wide variety of market stalls to peruse.
“Whether you’re looking for clothing, accessories, handbags, pet accessories, leather goods, metal artwork, candles, wooden toys, or homemade goodies like jams and relishes, you will find all of these plus much more,” Julie said.
The Laidley Spring Festival is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland.
The event is also made possible thanks to the Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Kambu Health, Pohlmans Nursery, Urban Utilities, The Lockyer and Somerset Independent, River 94.9 and Australian Organic Farmers.
