Major Community Grants initiative now open
Not-for-profit community organisations across the Lockyer Valley are invited to apply for the next round of Council’s Major Community Grants initiative.
Council's Major Community Grants Program awards successful applicants with non-recurrent grants of between $1000 and $4000 and are instrumental in assisting not-for-profit community organisations in delivering projects and initiatives to benefit the Lockyer Valley community.
Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said the program was designed to provide financial assistance to a range of organisations across the region.
“These grants are tailor-made for the community.
“The money is allocated each round to allow Council to support our local groups to put on an event, run a program or purchase something which will benefit the wider community.
“Our Major Community Grants program is one of the most important ways for our Council to support the local community.
“This money can be put towards a diverse range of projects, so I encourage locals to get creative and think of innovative, unique and meaningful ways to use the funding,” Mayor Milligan said.
The program reflects Council's commitment to fostering community development and empowering local organisations to make a positive impact.
“If there are groups in the region who have ideas on initiatives or projects that could really provide a boost to the Lockyer Valley community, please apply,” Mayor Milligan said.
Applications close on 15 September. To apply, and for more information, visit www.lockyervalley.qld.gov.au/our-council/grants-and-funding/ or contact Council on 1300 005 872.
