Council to offer up residential lots in Grantham
Lockyer Valley Regional Council will soon offer up a rare opportunity for those looking to break into the region’s housing market.
The balance of land originally purchased by Council for the Grantham Land Swap following the 2011 flood event will now be sold to help address the housing shortage.
The 14 residential lots, ranging in size from 1,557m2 to just over 2000m2, are already individually registered and ready to build on.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said the upcoming auction would be managed by Ray White Real Estate (RWE).
“We have a housing supply crisis in Australia, and we appreciate a lot of our residents are struggling through both this, and cost-of-living challenges.
“Anything we can do to boost the housing supply we will, and that is why now feels like the right time to offer up this opportunity,” Mayor Milligan said.
Located just 15 minutes from Gatton, 30 minutes to Toowoomba and 50 minutes to Ipswich, the predominantly cleared residential lots are situated on Tryhorn and Engler streets in the flood-free Grantham Estate and boast rural easterly views.
The properties will be offered for sale individually via public auction on Wednesday 27 November from 6pm at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre.
