Council brings Christmas cheer!
Lockyer Valley Regional Council is again bringing Christmas cheer to the region and is set to embark on a range of festive initiatives to celebrate the season.
The Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre, Das Neumann Haus and the Gatton Administration Building will soon sport their very own Christmas tree, set to shine bright until the big day. Christmas garlands will also be hung on the Gatton Administration Building, pergolas on Railway Street, Gatton and the Laidley Customer Service Centre.
In addition, residents are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled over the next few days as our merry men and women create two whimsical Christmas precincts for the Lockyer Valley to enjoy!
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said she hoped the festive season was a positive and joyful time for the community.
“Santa’s Workshop in Gatton and Candy Land, Laidley are set to be a highlight of Christmas 2024.
“With everything from twinkling fairy lights to gingerbread houses, holiday cheer will be in overdrive at Centenary Gardens, Gatton and Das Neumann Haus, Laidley.
“Keep an eye out for these magical decorations across our communities. I certainly hope they bring great joy and fill the community with Christmas cheer," she said.
Our youngest residents can also write their wish lists to the North Pole and find special mailboxes, designed just for Santa’s letters, at the Gatton and Laidley Libraries.
Letters posted in his special mailbox at either Library by Friday 13 December will be responded to by Santa. Any letters dropped off after this time will be sent to Santa, but he won’t have time to respond as he’ll be busy packing his sleigh and training the reindeer!
“Be it sparkling lights, colourful decorations or assisting with letters to Santa, we’re certainly doing our part to bring Christmas joy to as many residents as possible.
“I’m sure the decorations will bring a smile to many residents in the lead-up to Christmas,” she said.
