Grantham Flood Warning Siren test this Sunday
Council will undertake a test activation of the Grantham Flood Warning Siren this Sunday, 1 December 2024 at 12pm.
Residents will hear a siren tone following by a verbal message informing them to move to higher ground.
The testing process will take about 10 minutes and will include two ‘test messages’ and a ‘live’ message. This is a TEST only and no cause for alarm.
This is a good opportunity for community members to review their own evacuation plans and consider a range of alternative routes.
The siren was installed to alert the community to significant safety risks including loss of life. It is not used for low-level flooding in general.
For more information on the siren, visit lockyervalley.qld.gov.au/grantham-siren
