Holiday closures
The Gatton and Laidley offices, Lockyer Valley Libraries and Visitor Information Centre will close at 1pm on Tuesday, 24 December, re-opening on Thursday, 2 January 2025.
All Council waste facilities will be closed on Christmas Day. Bin services will commence at 5am on Christmas Day, requiring wheelie bins to be out early. All other bin services will operate as normal over the Christmas and New Year period.
Christmas Carnival on tomorrow night!
The annual Lockyer Valley Christmas Carnival returns tomorrow night with a sleigh-full of free entertainment and activities!
Gather the troops and join us for a night of festivities at North Street, Gatton from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
Art Gallery temporarily closed
Unfortunately, with the hot and humid days, the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery air conditioner has failed, prompting the early closure of the current ‘Windowpanes’ exhibition.
The gallery is expected to remain closed until approximately 26 January 2025 while parts to repair the system are sourced.

Experience our Christmas precincts
Council’s elves have been hard at work creating two bright and merry Christmas precincts for the Lockyer Valley to enjoy at Centenary Gardens, Gatton and Das Neumann Haus, Laidley.
Wander through the twinkling lights, snap photos with family and friends and soak in the festive spirit.
EOI – Winter Sports Showcase
Council is seeking expressions of interest from local sporting clubs and providers to participate in our upcoming Winter Sports Showcase.
This is a multi-sport come and try day showcasing winter sports available in the region and will be held on 1 February 2025 at Laidley Recreation Reserve.
