EcoSig Partnership
Council has partnered with EcoSig to provide vape disposal units at the Gatton, Laidley, Lockyer Waters and Withcott transfer stations in a bid to tackle single-use vapes and e-cigarette waste.
Because vapes contain an embedded lithium battery and traces of a range of chemicals, they can’t be placed in ANY kerbside bin for risk of fire, injury, or environmental damage.
The batteries recovered through the EcoSig program are turned into new power banks, with the remaining parts recycled or made safe and disposed of.
