Council partners with local organisation for Australia Day recipients
Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s 2025 Australia Day recipients received a handmade wooden pen, thanks to the handiwork of the Lockyer Woodcrafters in Forest Hill.
Council and the Lockyer Woodcrafters teamed up for this yearly tradition, with Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan, saying she was thrilled to have such a meaningful gift for our Award winners to mark their achievements.
“Our winners were also gifted a framed certificate, with an Australia Day medallion mounted inside.
“The expertise of the Woodcrafters really is second to none and we extend our sincere thanks to this talented group of artists for their assistance with a meaningful memento for the award winners.
“The pens, sourced from Lockyer Valley wood, were very well received by the recipients and their families at the 2025 Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony,” she said.
Mayor Milligan thanked the Lockyer Woodcrafters for working alongside Council once again.
“Not only is the Australia Day event such a special way for us as a community to kick off the year, I also love that every January sees us partner with a community organisation to see this event be the best it can be.
“Council also appreciated the support from local businesses with catering and AV production to ensure the event was of the highest quality.
“Partnerships such as these are beneficial to both the community and Council and we thank each of these organisations for their involvement in this year’s event,” she said.
