Council proud to host International Women’s Day breakfast
Lockyer Valley Regional Council will welcome esteemed journalist, Kim Skubris to its International Women’s Day celebration breakfast for 2025.
Tickets for the event are now on sale, to be held on Thursday 6 March 2025 at the Gatton Shire Hall in North Street, Gatton.
An Ambassador for The Daniel Morcombe Foundation and National Ambassador for Act for Kids, Kim has more than 30 years’ experience as a news broadcast journalist with the Seven Network in Australia and affiliate stations overseas.
The mother of two boys lives in Brisbane and is passionate about working in the child protection, and domestic and family violence spaces.
In addition to being a proud Ambassador of The Daniel Morcombe Foundation and Act for Kids, Kim is also a Board member for LiteHaus International and member of the Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Legacy Advisory.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan, said she was thrilled to welcome Kim back to the region as the guest speaker for this event.
“Kim is a great friend of ours in the Lockyer Valley, and I know those in attendance will get a lot out of hearing her story.
“We hope many people in the community attend again this year, to enjoy the camaraderie and sense of belonging that the gathering creates.
“This is such a wonderful opportunity for our region’s men and women to come together and enjoy the opportunity to grow, connect and enjoy each other’s company,” Mayor Milligan said.

Raffle tickets will be available on the day, with proceeds going towards the Lockyer Valley Salvation Army.
