New date for Festival of Cultures
There is a new date for the Lockyer Valley Festival of Cultures!
Following Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, the event has been postponed, and expressions of interest extended.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said Council would now host the Lockyer Valley Festival of Cultureson Sunday, 3 August.
“Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred certainly made an impact across the region in many ways, and a lot of our community organisations are still dealing with the repercussions.
“We’re still looking forward to showcasing our region’s cultures and promoting intercultural connections – just a little later in the year.
“The good news is we now have extra time for the call-out for expressions of interest to hold activities, information stalls, cultural displays, or cultural performances at the event.
“The Festival of Cultures is a snapshot of our people here in the Lockyer Valley and is a wonderful opportunity to champion the rich tapestry that makes up our communities,” Mayor Milligan said.
Expressions of interest will close at 5pm on Wednesday 30 April. Council will hold the Festival of Cultures on Sunday, 3 August commencing at 11am at Littleton Park, Gatton.
Applications can be made online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/YL6ZMNY. Printed copies of the application form are available from the Gatton and Laidley Customer Service Centres.
