Fairways Park damaged
Fairways Park has been the target of vandalism and theft once again. As a result, footpath lights and some barbeques are no longer working. Council will rectify the damage once parts are available.
Upgrade of Jean Biggs Park, Withcott
Jean Biggs Park, Withcott will be upgraded in the second half of 2025 after Council secured funding from the Queensland Government’s South East Queensland Community Stimulus Program.
Council and the Withcott community are also contributing to the project, bringing the total for Stage 1 to $350k.
Containers for Change
During the holidays, recycling bins can fill up quickly. Make room and pocket some extra cash by separating empty bottles and taking them to a Container Recycling Scheme drop-off point, such as Return-It on Industrial Road, Gatton or the Laidley and Gatton Transfer Stations (with a scheme ID).
Art Gallery temporarily closed
Unfortunately, the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery’s air conditioner has failed, prompting the early closure of the current ‘Windowpanes’ exhibition.
The gallery is expected to remain closed until approximately 26 January 2025 while parts to repair the system are sourced.
