The Australian Sports Commission
A free online platform called “Game Plan” is available that allows sporting clubs to get insights into their current capacity in key areas of club administration, then supports ongoing club development with a suite of tools and resources. This is a great free health check to assist in strengthening your club. Clubs are encouraged to share these results with Council’s Sport and Recreation Development Officer who can help to support implementation.

FairPlay Vouchers
Become a registered activity provider so parents/carers/guardians can redeem vouchers of up to $150 for their child. Clubs must be registered to accept these vouchers. Vouchers must be used towards sport and active recreation membership or participation fees.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Ambassador Support: One-off financial contributions can be made by Council to individuals who excel in sporting, academic and cultural pursuits. Council will provide assistance to individuals to partially offset the cost of representing their club, organisation or school and provide an incentive for continued success.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Major Community Grants Program
Council's Major Community Grants Program is for non-recurrent grants between $1000 and $4000 and are available for not-for-profit community organisations to undertake projects, activities or events which benefit the wider community.

Australian Sports Foundation
A fundraising platform for sports clubs and athletes, Australian Sports Foundation is a registered charity which means any donation of $2 or more is tax-deductible. It’s free to join and you can start your own online fundraiser.

Other Funding Opportunities
Council recommends community groups subscribe to the EasyGrants newsletter distributed by the OurCommunity Funding Centre. It is also recommended to subscribe to Council’s “On The Ball | Lockyer Valley Sports and Recreation Newsletter”. This newsletter will provide updates on external funding opportunities relevant to sporting groups and athletes.
Other Helpful Information
Regional/State/National level sporting organisation
It is highly recommended to regularly visit your sport’s regional/state/national level organisation website and to contact them. They can provide specific information related to club governance, volunteer resources, education and more. Most organisations provide useful templates for all types of documents/resources. The Queensland Government provides a full list of all state-level sporting organisations for each sport.

Good Sports
Good Sports is a free Australia-wide program building stronger community sporting clubs. Good Sports supports and inspires community sporting clubs to set up a better environment for players, volunteers, supporters and officials. For over 20 years, it has helped clubs tackle tricky topics such as alcohol, drugs, smoking, mental health and safe transport.

Play by the Rules provides information, resources, tools and free online training to increase the capacity and capability of administrators, coaches, officials, players, parents and spectators to assist them in preventing and dealing with discrimination, harassment, child safety, inclusion and integrity issues in sport.
