Water for Lockyer Project
This project, directed by the Lockyer Valley and Somerset Water Collaborative, is a water pipeline distribution network to ensure long term water security for agriculture sustainability. When completed, it will ensure regional economic growth in the Lockyer Valley and Somerset regions.
Specialist water infrastructure consultants, Jacobs Group have completed the Detailed Business Case, which will be lodged with the Queensland Government. The $1.4m study into options to bring new water to the Lockyer Valley region has taken 12 months to prepare and contains over 1100 pages of detailed analysis of potential water demand, scheme design, long-term economic benefits and the results of two rounds of in-depth consultations with local growers and other potential water users.

Lockyer Valley Equine Precinct
A group of stakeholders is exploring opportunities to improve social and economic benefits for the community land asset at the existing Lockyer Valley Turf Club site in Gatton.
Council Chairs the group which includes: Equestrian Queensland, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Lockyer Valley Turf Club, Racing Queensland, The University of Queensland School of Veterinary Science and Regional Development Australia Ipswich and West Moreton.
The Equine Collaborative have completed a Concept Design Masterplan for the proposed Lockyer Valley Equine Precinct. The Project Business Case has also recently been completed and demonstrates that the project is financially sustainable from Year 1, and will provide significant economic benefit and jobs for the Lockyer Valley region.
