Youth Programs
General Information
Council provides a range of programs for the Region's young people and children, and is interested in hearing from young people about matters of importance to them. Youth Programs vary from time to time and may include:
- school holiday activities
- youth forums
- leadership development opportunities
- surveys
- projects such as skatepark upgrades
Events will be promoted on the local Events Calendar and Council's Facebook page.
School Holiday Programs
General Information on School Holiday Activities
A number of services work closely with Council to offer a range of free school holiday programs. Holiday programs are primarily promoted on Council's Facebook, My Community Diary website, and are distributed to schools for inclusion in their newsletters.
The range of holiday programs may include:
- Skateboard, scooter and parkour workshops (clinics) and competitions
- Family-friendly Dive-In (pool) Movies and Indoor Movies
- Youth-only Dive-In Movies
- Craft and games-based programs organised by Anglicare and local community centres
- Computer, robotics, Lego and craft activities organised by Lockyer Valley Libraries
- Adventure-based games and challenges (e.g. high ropes courses with Laidley District State School)
