Community Environmental Grants Program
The Lockyer Valley Regional Council's Community Environmental Grant (CEG) Program aims to support a healthy, sustainable and integrated natural environment within the Lockyer Valley through cooperative community projects.
The CEG Program provides funding to Lockyer Valley schools and community groups to undertake environmental projects involving education, management and conservation of the natural environment.
Applications for Round 1 2024/25 closed on 15 November 2024.

Previously successful grants include:
2023/24
- Friends of Gormans Gap Inc. (FOGG Inc) - Free the Trees.
- Kokoda Youth Foundation Inc. - To purchase native trees, fruit trees, flowering shrubs, hedging, grasses and groundcover to assist in the remediation and regeneration of the ecosystem in the area around the camp at Kokoda Park while providing learning opportunities for the kids.
- Withcott State School Parents and Citizens Association - Withcott State School Environmental Management Team (EMT) Garden & Biodiversity Upgrade.
2021/22
- Lockyer Upland Catchments Inc: Conserving Native Grasses and Grassy Habitats of the Lockyer Valley: Community educational material.
- Lockyer Upland Catchments Inc. Workshop on the Lockyer Uplands Bird Survey Project.
- University of Southern Queensland: Investigation into secondary poisoning of Lockyer Valley raptors from the use of rodenticides.
- Friends of Gormans Gap: Gormans Gap Trail Loop Weed Management Project.
2020/21
- Lockyer Action Community Inc. wildlife cameras and workshops to enhance environmental outcomes.
- Lockyer Upland Catchments Inc. conserving native grasses and grassy habitats in the Lockyer Valley.
- Lockyer Valley Fauna Sanctuary Inc. animal recovery fencing.
2018/19
- Successful projects included Lockyer Catchment Riparian Restoration, Anniversary Garden and Creek rehabilitation and planting.
2017/18
- Successful projects include Waterbird habitat & Koala fodder project, Phase 2 Glossy Black Cockatoo survey, storage unit for environmental equipment, equipment, training and mapping.
2015/16
- Overview of the Western Lockyer Invertebrate Survey, Lockyer Uplands Glossy Black-Cockatoo Project and the Snakes and Lizards of the Lockyer Poster.
2014/15
- Overview of the Further Survey of Invertebrates in the Western Lockyer and the Survey Nocturnal Small Mammals in the Western Lockyer.
